Due to Mr. Van Check’s dedication and desire to improve the community, he has been elected as the President of the Cambodian Buddhist Society consecutively for 6 terms. In return, there are no expectations of monetary value but only the hope that our Cambodian community continue to unite and support each other. Growth can only happen with participation and an open heart. By Volunteering countless hours to a cause he believes in, he invites you to join Wat San Jose as they begin the building/renovation of the temple. Mr Chek has also been a member of Cambodian New Year Committee. There is always enough time if there is enough desire in your heart and he is an example of that.
Phoeurt Sin – 1st Vice President
Mr. Phoeurth Sin has involved in serving Wat Khmer San Jose for many years. Recently, Mr. Sin has worked on managing the building/renovation of the temple. He works closely with Mr. Chek and assists Secretary.
Mr. Sin also collaborated with Ah-Char Group and Cutlural Event Committee in preparing and organizing the events at the temple including setting up tents, creating utilities, and so for events.
He offers his hands for any needs.
Peter Chan – 2nd Vice Presiddent
Mr. Peter Chan has served Wat Khmer San Jose and community activities for many years. His interest is to assure the happiness and financial transparency for community.
Mr Chan works closeley with Mr. Chek and assists Treasurer for any needs. Mr. Chan connects with other local community organization to preserve the Khmer culture and actitivies.
He provides his leadership to BOD with any needs.
Mr. Perom Uch has served Wat Khmer San Jose and community activities for many years. He was former Vice Presiddent of Wat Khmer San jose. Mr. Uch was also former Vice President of Cambodian American Resource Agency (CARA) and served many times as the former chair for Cambodian New Years.
Mr. Uch was also a former principle of Cambodian Language School, a program under CARA. He works closely with BODs and handed by his teams:
- Bunkan Kas – Deputy Secretary
- Chanthoeun To – 1st Assistant Deputy Secretary
- Bun So – 2nd Assistant Deputy Secretary
- Kelvin So – 3rd Assistant Deputy Secretary
Mr Phillip Lim was born in Kompong Cham, Cambodia in 1966. He survived the Khmer Rouge regime through the 1970’s and emigrated from Cambodia to the United States in 1981. Mr. Lim have been living in the Bay Area since 1991 and has been volunteering for the local Cambodian community off and on since 1992.
Also, Mr. Lim is currently the Presiddent of CARA, and he has been with the CARA organization since 1999 and enjoys working with a group of talented and warm hearted people. Professionally, he currently works for a Silicon Valley high tech company as an engineer. He enjoys working in this field and has built it as a career for the past 17 years.
He works closely with BODs and handed by his team:

- Sereycheath Ith – 1st Assistant Deputy Treasurer
- Sanath Kong – 2nd Assistant Deputy Treasurer
Mrs. Channary Bill has served community activities including Santa Clara Cambodian Women Association, Cambodian New Year, Wat Khmer San Jose, and many community actitivies for many years. Mrs. Bill currently Presiddent of Santa Clara Cambodian Woment Association.
Mrs. Bill bridges the elder generation and younger generation to work closely and understand each others.
